The Director of New School Development will support, manage and monitor the development and launching of new small high schools. During the planning phase, s/he will engage with principals and design teams to develop the vision, mission, structure, instructional framework, and operation policies for the new schools so that they embed the ISA principles, are compatible with district and state policies, and are organized to graduate all students ready for college success. This position requires a strong leader who is knowledgeable about school organization, college prep instruction, and practices that can enact the ISA principles. The director of new school development must have a demonstrated record of success in starting small, college prep high schools and/or leading high school transformation initiatives compatible with ISA’s principles. Program Managers will serve as ISA’s primary liaison to a cluster of small ISA high schools / small learning communities from the 1st year of implementation through year 5 and beyond. S/he will support and monitor the implementation of the ISA model by helping principals to effectively implement the ISA model and initiatives and to overcome implementation challenges. Program Managers will communicate and collaborate with ISA coaches to ensure the effective implementation of the ISA model. Additionally, they will establish relationships with district administrators to support effective school level implementation and to overcome obstacles to full implementation.
