Wednesday, March 6, 2013

The York County School of Technology budget for 2013-14 has been approved. Jon Boyer, tech business manager, told board members at Thursday's Joint Operating Committee meeting that the budget was approved by 11 school districts and rejected by three.

In order to be adopted, the budget had to be approved by at least 10 of the 14 York County school districts.

The approving districts are: Dover Area, Eastern, Hanover Public, Northeastern, South Eastern, South Western, Southern York, Spring Grove Area, West York Area, York Suburban, and York City. The Central York, Dallastown Area, and Red Lion Area school districts rejected the budget.

The entire proposed YCST budget is $25.1 million -- slightly more than $21.6 million goes to high school operations and the rest is for the adult education center.
