There won't be a construction project on the Palmer Wing of Knox Elementary School.

Voters said no to the project in a special election Tuesday.

The voter turnout was not as high as expected. Just over 10% of registered voters turned out for the election. 556 voted for the construction, while 458 voted against it.

If the referendum passed, the plan was to rebuild the school from the boiler to the classrooms.
