Texas District Gets Proposal to Add 5 Bilingual Schools

Three middle schools and two high schools in Spring Branch ISD could be sites for the district's secondary dual-language program, should the district move forward with a committee's recommendations.

The idea is to implement an English-Spanish program at Spring Woods and Spring Forest middle schools and later at Spring Woods and Stratford high schools. Spring Oaks is a third middle school option should the need arise.

Westchester Academy for International Studies, a charter school at 901 Yorkchester for grades 6-12, is now the only secondary school in the district to offer a dual-language option, and the school has a cap on enrollment in the program.
