Technology Recycler Steps in to Help Marblehead, Mass. Schools

No matter how many pounds of unwanted electronics are clogging your workspace, chances are the Marblehead schools have you beat.

Ten days before Christmas, the crew from the Marblehead-based social venture Ethical Electronics Recycling hauled over 3,000 pounds of computers and peripherals out of the Marblehead Schools Information Technology Office — for free.

"This is great," joked Marblehead schools technology director Kathy Comeau. "Now, there's actually room to walk around the office!"

The early Christmas gift was the result of an informal partnership between EER and the Marblehead Health Department.
