The advancement in technology is also causing a large divide – between those kids with a computer at home and those without.
Florida school districts must provide students with more digital textbooks by 2015, but many families can’t afford a computer and don’t have Internet access at home.
"I don’t know how any family, or student I should say, thrives or much less survives in public education without access to the Internet,” said Orange County School Board Chairman Bill Sublette said.
