Ohio schools get creative to ensure kids are active

Most kids at Slate Ridge Elementary ran across the lawn, skipped jump ropes or played basketball during recess recently.

But a few lie on the ground, watching others play. Several girls strolled around the playground, chatting with friends.

They’re the ones Vinny VanSlyke will target this year as part of Reynoldsburg schools’ effort to get every elementary- and middle-school student moving during recess.
