Ohio district hires Jerry Mowery as superintendent

Jerry Mowery is leaving one Ross County school superintendent post for another.

The Huntington administrator confirmed Thursday that he’s accepted a verbal offer from the Zane Trace Board of Education to become the district’s next superintendent. The board is set to officially approve the hire Tuesday and offer Mowery a three-year contract.

“What’s impressive about Jerry, even during his athletic career, is he knows how to bring people together,” Zane Trace board president Dwight Tillis said. “He’s always been the type of person who builds consensus.”
