Work on the major road leading into Northampton Area School District's new academic campus is running ahead of schedule as administrators lay plans for traffic flow before the school year arrives.

Originally slated for completion by the second week of August, improvements to the new Stadium Drive are expected to be done by the end of this month, a boon to school Superintendent Joseph Kovalchik as he attempts to map out how buses and parents dropping off their kids will move in and out of the new campus when school resumes Aug. 26.

"Stadium Drive is key," he said during the school board meeting Monday.

The improvements are part of the construction of a middle school on the grounds of the old Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School satellite campus.
