North Carolina House Panel Wants More Digital Technology in Schools

North Carolina lawmakers want to ensure students and teachers are prepared for a digital world.

The House Education Committee approved three bills Tuesday related to school technology and Internet access.

One says it's the General Assembly's intent to move from funding traditional and digital textbooks to funding digital instructional materials only in public schools by 2017. Funding to make that transition would come later.
