New principal hired at Minnesota STEM school

Arthur Williams has been selected as the new Jefferson Elementary STEM School Principal. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in the Foundations of Education in 2004, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2008 and Principal License Certification in 2010. After graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree, he spent seven years teaching at the elementary level in both third and fifth grades in the Bloomington Public School District at Oak Grove Elementary. While employed there, Williams also held several leadership roles, including Testing Coordinator, Administrative Lead, Dean of Students as well as Principal. Most recently, Williams served as Elementary Principal at ACCPA Elementary in Kansas City, Mo.

“It is great to be coming back to Minnesota; I am very honored and excited to be the next principal at Jefferson STEM Elementary in the Winona Area Public School District,” said Williams. “I bring a solid record of commitment in providing students with effective instruction, intervention, and enrichment. My wife, Adrien, and I are looking forward to becoming part of such a wonderful community as Winona and I am ready for a very successful school year.”

Williams will officially assume his new position on August 1, but plans to work with the Jefferson staff in June and July.
