New Jersey tech specialists come together for professional development

At this year’s “Weathering the Storm with Optimism” conference of New Jersey school administrators, representatives from the Westfield Public Schools discussed the district’s technology initiative. Paul Pineiro, assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction, and program, presented an overview of the “Walls to Windows” initiative and noted that the partnership for 21st Century Skills says today's schools must "bridge the gap between how students live and how they learn."

He explained that Westfield's "Walls to Windows" technology initiative put in place the infrastructure needed to bridge the gap, but it was the deployment of two district-wide, full-time master technology teachers that brought the vision to life.
