Today marks the beginning of a week dedicated to school bus safety, a topic that's sure to be on the minds of local residents following a pair of recent school bus crashes.
The first crash, on Oct. 5 in Bainbridge, killed the motorist who hit the bus and sent a dozen students to area hospitals.
Less than a week later, on Oct. 10 in Circleville, the driver of a car that collided with a school bus had to be flown to Columbus after first being taken to a nearby hospital.
No students were injured in the crash.
National School Bus Safety Week urges motorists and students to exercise caution.
