The School Committee on Saturday voted to hire Richard Langlois, head of the Saugus public schools, as the district’s new superintendent.
Langlois, a Bradford resident, has served as the superintendent in the Saugus school system for the last five years. He beat out two other finalists for the position - education and leadership consultant Christopher Bogden of New York and retired superintendent Tony Apostle from Washington state.
The School Committee made its decision at the end of a three-hour meeting Saturday, Vice Chairwoman Michelle Bodin-Hettinger said Sunday.
