Ky. Education Department Moves to Paper Tests

After problems with online testing last week, the Kentucky Department of Education is moving to pencil-and-paper tests.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the Education Department sent an email to testing coordinators on Saturday saying that ACT Inc. was suspending the online system on Monday.

ACT previously said its testing system had been overloaded by the number of students taking the test but that more capacity had been added and testing could resume on Monday.

The tests are mandatory for high school students taking English II, algebra II, biology and U.S. history.
