K12 Inc., the nation’s leading provider of technology-powered individualized education solutions for students in pre-kindergarten through high school, announced it has launched the first in a series of content available through the PEAK12TM Library, a new tool that enables instructors to quickly and easily personalize online courses for individual students, groups, classes, schools or districts.The PEAK12 Library now includes 5,500 lessons from the A+nyWhere Learning System® (A+LS) by K12®, which provides content and assessment tools individualized to match skill levels and learning needs of all of students.
PEAK12, which stands for Personalize, Engage, and Achieve with K12, is an intelligent management center designed to empower schools and districts to manage and personalize all of their online learning program solutions from one place. PEAK12, launched in July, is designed to centralize solutions including those from K12 and third parties, open education resources, and district-authored content.
Now, K12 school and district partners can also take advantage of the innovative personalization capabilities, which are driven by the PEAK12 Library. The Library enables instructors to modify an existing course or build a new course – whether for an individual student or for an entire school district – using A+LS content, as well as adaptive and informative assessments.
“With the PEAK12 Library, now our instructors can drill down to specific skill deficiencies, monitor student performance, and quickly support the needs of individual learners,” said Mary Fluharty, Online Learning Coordinator for Alexandria City Public Schools in Alexandria, Virginia. “Our teachers have the assets and control to personalize learning for more of our students – all through a single, robust tool.”
In addition, using A+LS with the PEAK12 Library, instructors can:
Compare student performance against state and Common Core State Standards, and immediately understand where students need the most help;
Build adaptive or informative assessments to their exact specifications, or select from hundreds of pre-built adaptive assessments;
View reports at a glance that show which students have or have not mastered specific objectives; and
Access student performance data in one place – instructors and administrators can access PEAK12 to view and analyze their students’ performance data, whether at the school level or district-wide.
“The power of the PEAK12 Library with A+LS is that it streamlines the process of customizing a course, so that instructors can maximize teachable moments – and avoid spending hours provisioning and publishing content,” said John Olsen, Executive Vice President of Operations for K12. “Further, PEAK12 gathers student performance data from disparate sources and enables instructors to view it in a single, unified manner. By enabling instructors to integrate ‘best-in-class’ content and learning tools in their classrooms, and by providing actionable data and reports, we believe schools and districts will have the capability to address individual student needs like never before.”
K12 provides schools and districts the industry’s most complete continuum of proprietary pre-kindergarten through high school online learning solutions for full-time virtual, blended, and traditional classroom learning environments. Over the past decade, the company has served more than 2,000 districts and delivered over 4 million online course enrollments from its award-winning portfolio. MDR’s market research service EdNET Insight recently reported that K12 is the leading provider of online curriculum to school districts across the United States.
