Gulfport's (Miss.) Kelly Named to National Education Committee

John R. Kelly has been appointed to a national committee that works on education reform priorities with Congress and other federal officials.

Kelly on Tuesday was named to The National Association of State Boards of Education's Governmental Affairs Committee.

Kelly, who is Gulfport's chief administrative officer, also serves on the Mississippi Board of Education.

The 18 members of the committee develop federal policy recommendations and communicate with Congress and federal officials about how states want to reform education.
