Former Pa. Administrator Named Buffalo (N.Y.) Schools' Chief

A former Philadelphia schools administrator has been appointed the new superintendent for Buffalo's schools.

Local media outlets report that the Board of Education approved Pamela C. Brown's appointment Wednesday to run upstate New York's largest public school system.

The 57-year-old Brown was selected over Amber Dixon, who has been serving as interim superintendent. Dixon stepped in for James Williams, whose six-year run as superintendent ended with his resignation last year.
