Fla. Department of Education Releases First-ever School Rankings

The state Department of Education today released a best-to-worst ranking of Florida's 3,078 public schools - and a number of Palm Beach County schools made it to the top of the lists.

South Olive Elementary School in West Palm Beach tied for seventh-best public elementary school in the state based on points it earned on the FCAT. Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Don Estridge High Tech Middle in Boca Raton and Wellington Landings Middle in Wellington placed fourth, sixth and ninth, respectively, among state public middle schools.

And Suncoast High in Riviera Beach and Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts in West Palm Beach took third and fourth among the state's high schools.
