Drive Safe for Life Asks: Will Mich. Teens Drive Safely to the Prom?

“Traffic accidents are the No. 1 cause of death among young adults,” according to information provided by Sabrina Pritchett-Evans, a State Farm Insurance agent in Kalamazoo, and the mother of a young man who will graduate this spring from Kalamazoo Central High School.

“According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens and about one-third of those are alcohol related. Further, given the on-set of social media, accidents among teenagers are increasingly due to distracted driving including texting, cell phone usage and multiple occupancy.”
