Conn. Achievement Gap Task Force Hosts Commissioner Pryor

A Connecticut task force assigned to study ways to close the achievement gap between wealthy and poor students is scheduled to hear from the state's new education commissioner.

Stefan Pryor will address the group at its meeting Monday in Hartford, where members will also review recent data from the federal National Center for Education Statistics.

The task force is reviewing causes and proposing solutions to the gap between wealthy and poor students in academic progress, graduation rates and other indicators.
