Dear School Leader: Like everyone, we were shocked and saddened by last week's school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. We're sure that you share our sympathy for those affected by this tragedy, as well as a desire to ensure that parents understand what they can do to support school safety.

We'd like to help. We are making available, at no charge, an electronic copy of our popular publication entitled "Staying Safe: A Key to Your Student's Success." It's a very short publication that includes ideas parents can use to help students learn several essential safety rules. The publication is available in English and Spanish at these URLs:

English:   http://www.parent-institute.com/StayingSafe-111F.pdf

Spanish:   http://www.parent-institute.com/StayingSafe-211F.pdf

You are welcome to link to these URLs from your school website. You may also print the publications for use in your school and/or distribute them by email. We are offering these publications in electronic form to any school that might benefit from them, so please feel free to share this message with interested colleagues.

We hope this will help as you work to address parent concerns while reinforcing that parents have an important role in helping to ensure school safety.

If you have any questions about this offer, please contact us by email (custsvc@parent-institute.com) or by telephone (1-800-756-5525).
