Ousted Cedar Falls Superintendent Mike Wells said he's excited for what's next: a job as the superintendent of the Mount Pleasant Community School District.

"Mt. Pleasant is an excellent community," he told Patch Wednesday. "They have a Wesleyan college in town, and I’m excited to continue to work in a district that has a college to collaborate with."

Wells, a first-year superintendent in Cedar Falls, was pushed to resign, effective June 30, when the Cedar Falls School Board made it clear it would vote not to renew his contract at a Feb. 27 board meeting.
