Avon school officials were presented two brick building designs at last night’s board meeting for the 42-acres on Long Road.

The 160,000 square-foot building will have 45 classrooms and 12 laboratories. The double-decker school also will house a multi-purpose room, multiple music and art rooms, two gymnasiums, a large cafeteria, spacious hallways, a football field on site, and two driveways for students, staff and parents.

“This new middle school will most definitely have its own character,” Superintendent Mike Laub said. “I am very pleased by the designs we were presented with today.

“Plans are still being worked out, but we are certain the school is going to be great and we very much look forward to enjoying it with our students,” said Laub.
