Ala. City Council Approves $133,000 to Help Five Schools, Emphasizes Accountability

"I'm going to vote for this tonight," Councilman Ron Scott said about the motion he made to approve the funding. "But I'm also going to press our city administrators on accountability. ... I hope the principals will do a good job in reporting back to us on how these monies will be spent."

The council unanimously approved specific amounts for the five public schools in Pelham with targeted areas on how the money will be used:

Valley Elementary School: $28,000 for 40 computers, mice and related task chairs.
