The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) announced the appointment of Jodie Pozo-Olano to chief communications officer. Pozo-Olano has nearly 20 years of experience in public relations, communications, and marketing. Most recently, she led global PR activities for Promethean, an education company that specializes in interactive classroom solutions.

The Wilkes-Barre Area School Board once again appointed Bernard Prevuznak as the permanent superintendent of the Pennsylvania district. The vote at Tuesday's meeting was 6-3, with Prevuznak signing a three-year contract. His one-year contract as acting superintendent expires this coming Sunday.

It’s been a busy summer for Michael Tempesta, the new superintendent of Saugus Public Schools in Saugus, Mass. Since taking over in July, Tempesta has met with numerous town officials, administrators, teachers, parents and others to glean valuable feedback and to gain a deeper understanding of the community’s needs so he can make informed decisions as the leader of the school district.
