Andy Baker to lead Texas district

Kilgore ISD’s board of trustees picked Andy Baker as its lone finalist to succeed interim Superintendent Mike Morrison. Baker is currently the superintendent at Edgewood ISD.

The Kilgore ISD board of trustees has unanimously named an East Texas school chief as its lone finalist to succeed interim Superintendent Mike Morrison.

After an executive session lasting for more than two hours, trustees named Andy Baker their lone finalist for permanent superintendent. Baker is the superintendent at Edgewood ISD in Van Zandt County.

The search came after Superintendent Cara Cooke resigned in July to take a job at Aransas Pass ISD. Morrison, former Gladewater ISD superintendent, was appointed Kilgore’s interim superintendent.
