Abilene Independent School District voters approved a $138.7 million construction bond request Tuesday by a wide margin.
The final, unofficial vote tally was 14,887 (63 percent) to 8,800.
“We knew there would be great turnout,” said Gary Grubbs, chairman of the Vote for Abilene Kids Political Action Committee. “The results are gratifying.”
